ARTC contributes 9.5% of base salary toward an employee’s superannuation fund. The ARTC superannuation default fund is Mercer. Alternatively, employees can choose a fund of their choice.
Training and development
ARTC recognises the importance of every individual in its team in achieving the overall goals and objectives of the business. Our employees have individual training plans which map out their training requirements over a defined period. Employees and managers discuss their performance objectives and agree what training programs and professional development will assist them to achieve individual and corporate goals. All training, as far as possible, will be accredited and/or competency based.
ARTC also provides traineeships to attract new employees into the rail Industry. The traineeships provide you with on and off-the-job training to enhance skills and knowledge to support your future in rail.

Employee assistance program
ARTC offers a free counselling and support service to employees for issues that may disrupt wellbeing and work effectiveness. The service is available 24hours/day 7days/week and can be utilised for personal and work related issues. The service is strictly confidential.
Flexible Working Arrangements
ARTC can provide flexible working arrangements where the operational requirements of the role can be met. Examples of the flexible arrangements available include: part-time positions, working full-time hours over a condensed working week, job share, later start / earlier finish times to accommodate school drop offs and pick-ups and working from home arrangements.
Mentoring Program and Succession Planning
ARTC has a mentoring program that supports leadership development. This program is aimed at increasing organisational capacity and performance and supports our development of succession plans by providing employees with opportunities to progress their careers within ARTC.
After 40 weeks of continuous service with ARTC, employees are entitled to parental leave. Nine weeks paid maternity leave at full pay or 18 weeks at half pay is paid to eligible employees. One week paid paternity or adoption leave is payable for eligible employees. Employees are also entitled to unpaid parental leave in line with the National Employment Standards.
ARTC’s in-house magazine and employee bulletins not only update employees on projects taking place across the company, but also recognise individual and team achievements.
Many of our offices have employee-run social clubs that organise events within that office or region.
