Southern Highlands maintenance works

  • Maintenance works are occurring on the Southern Highlands and Southern Sydney Freight lines
  • Majority of the works will be carried out on Saturday 11th March, from 10am to 6pm
  • Essential track works will maintain high standards across the network

The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) will carry out maintenance shutdowns of the Southern Highlands line from Glenlee to Moss Vale, the Moss Vale to Unanderra line, and the Southern Sydney Freight Line between Glenlee and Enfield West on Saturday 11th March.

The shutdown will allow essential maintenance works to be carried out which will improve our services in the Southern Highlands network. Works will be undertaken from 1000 to 1800, with the Moss Vale to Unanderra works taking place from 0600 to 1800.

Freight services will be suspended during the works, and bus services will replace passenger services. Passengers should visit www.transportnsw.info to check on service status and any alternate transport arrangements.

For any further queries, please contact ARTC’s Enviroline on 1300 550 402.

ARTC’s General Manager Asset Maintenance Services – Interstate, Costas Kokkoni said:

“The maintenance works will be targeted at repairing and removing multiple known conditions to ensure that the track remains at a high standard.

“Every effort has been made to reduce the impact to services, however it is essential we maintain track conditions to ensure ongoing network safety and reliability.

“We apologise for any disruption or inconvenience caused and thank the community for its support and patience while these essential works are taking place.

“While freight and passenger services will be stopped, we continue to ask motorists to remain vigilant and slow down at level crossings during the shutdown as there will be machinery and other movements on the rail line.”
