Level crossing upgrade: Turanville Road, Scone, NSW – April to late 2026
Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) is upgrading the Turanville Road level crossing in Scone to improve safety for the community, road and rail users.
The upgrade will include:
- Road works on both approaches of the level crossing
- Minor vegetation clearing
- New line marking
- Replacement of steel crossing plates with rubber panels
- Installation of flashing lights and warning bells
- Installation of boom gates
Work at the site is scheduled to start from April 2026, with the level crossing expected to be fully operational by late 2026.
Most work will take place during standard construction hours (7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, and 8:00am to 1:00pm, Saturdays).
During construction, traffic control will be in place to safely guide road users around the worksite, and across the railway line.
The railway line will still be LIVE throughout work, and all vehicles must STOP and LOOK FOR TRAINS once at the crossing.
