Rail Maintenance Works, Mile End to Islington
September 30 @ 12:00 am - October 2 @ 6:30 pm
We will be carrying out commissioning of ARTC Signalling infrastructure between Mile End and Islington over 6 consecutive shifts during September/October.
The works will commence 12:01am Monday 30th September and run for approximately 67 hours until 6:30pm Wednesday 2nd October 2024.
Our contractor will be in the area during standard working hours prior to this period to undertake pre-testing activities.
As we are upgrading, testing and commissioning the signalling infrastructure during day and night works, only a limited amount of construction equipment is required to remove the redundant signalling infrastructure, noting the civil excavation and installation works have previously been completed.
Train services are required to operate in this period and there will be speed restrictions on ARTC rail traffic, so please take care when using pedestrian crossings. There is no impact to the Adelaide Metro Gawler line services due to these works.
How could this work affect you?
There will be light industrial vehicles in the area, and at times pedestrian crossing access at the southern end of Ovingham Station will be closed with signage placed during these periods to direct pedestrians to the northern end for access to cross the ARTC tracks. All other level crossings will remain operational for rail traffic.
