Track machine maintenance in sidings across Hunter Valley network – July to August, 2025

We continually operate track machines across the network to improve track conditions and allow safer, more reliable, and quieter rail operations.

This means track machines need to be stabled in sidings for routine maintenance.

You may notice increased noise during maintenance as our machines need to keep idling so we can check that all the electrical components are operating correctly.

To reduce noise impacts, we will stable at a location away from residents where possible.

Throughout July and August, maintenance will occur at the following sidings:

Singleton

• Saturday 5 July, 6:30am to 6:00pm
• Sunday 6 July, 6:30am to 6:00pm
• Saturday 19 July, 6:00pm to 6:30am (overnight until Sunday morning)
• Sunday 3 August, 6:30am to 6:00pm

Gulgong

• Sunday 20 July, 6:30am to 6:00pm

Bylong and Kerrabee

• Saturday 26 July, 6:30am to 6:00pm
• Sunday 27 July, 6:30am to 6:00pm

Denman

• Tuesday 29 July, 6:00pm to 6:30am (overnight until Wednesday morning)

Muswellbrook

• Wednesday 30 July, 6:00pm to 6:30am (overnight until Thursday morning)
• Saturday 2 August, 6:30am to 6:00pm
• Sunday 3 August, 6:30am to 6:00pm
• Sunday 10 August 2025, 6:00pm to 6:30am (overnight until Saturday morning)

Willow Tree

• Friday 8 August, 6:00pm to 6:30am (overnight until Saturday morning)

Murrurundi

• Saturday 9 August, 6:00pm to 6:30am (overnight until Sunday morning)

Branxton

• Monday 11 August 2025, 6:00pm to 6:30am (overnight until Tuesday morning)
