Track machine work – Yass to Junee

ARTC continuously operates track machines across the network to improve track conditions and allow safer, more reliable, and quieter rail operations.

A rail grinding machine will be operating between Yass and Junee from 6:00am Thursday 18 August through until midnight Thursday 25 August 2022.

This work will be completed in periods when fewer trains operate allowing the work to be undertaken safely and efficiently, meaning that there will be some late-night and overnight work.

The rail grinding machine may be stabled for maintenance at Yass, Galong, Harden, Cootamundra and Junee at various times throughout the works. This may occur during the day or overnight and while this maintenance is being completed the engine will continue running to power the required equipment. This allows us to check that all the components of the machine are operating correctly. To mitigate noise, we will stable away from homes and buildings where possible.
