Message from the CEO

Hi everyone,

Welcome to ARTC News – a new quarterly newsletter to keep you up to date with what’s happening at ARTC.

I’ve been at the helm as CEO for 18 months now and am relishing being part of Australia’s rail industry, which has long been a crucial driver of the nation’s economic growth.

While the outlook for rail in this country is bright, I know that ARTC can and must do more to help secure the industry’s future, including greater collaboration with our customers and the local communities in which we operate to enhance the safety, reliability and efficiency of our network.

To help achieve this – and in support of our ongoing investment in major rail infrastructure projects across Australia – we’ve just announced some key leadership changes to guide our business forward, including dedicated Group Executive roles for:

  • Safety & Environment – we’ve commenced recruiting for this new position, which will support our mission to improve our safety performance, including contractor safety and level crossing safety.
  • Engineering & Systems – to be led by Brad Moorhouse who will manage our engineering, technical standards, systems and technology, including the ongoing rollout of our world-class Advanced Train Management System (ATMS).
  • Strategy, Culture & Reputation – to be led by Jane Lavender-Baker who will align our stakeholder relations and help ensure we deliver our refreshed business strategy.

So in the future I hope you experience a more open and forward-thinking ARTC.

We want to improve the way we share information and ideas.

We want to be more active in promoting the many advantages of rail in Australia to increase freight volumes.

And ultimately, we want to create more value for our customers and local communities by working better, together.

Regards,

Mark Campbell

CEO and Managing Director, ARTC
