SAFETY CRITICAL INFORMATION
Type Description
SAFE Notices SAFE Notices give notice of changes or exceptions to ARTC Network. Information Books (NIBs) and ARTC publications affecting the network.
Train Notice Provides notice of additional train movements or cancellations, out of gauge loading, level crossing upgrades, track Under bores, third party works adjacent to the ARTC Network etc.
Route Access Condition Notices (RACN) RACN’s outline the conditions by which work that constitutes a deviation from the Rail Access Standard is permitted on the ARTC Network.
Train Operating Conditions Waivers TOC Waivers detail all changes to the General Instructions and Section Pages of the ARTC TOC Manual, operation of new and modified rolling stock and plant and equipment, and any non-standard working on the NSW/QLD network.
Temporary Speed Restrictions (TSRs) A TSR overrides any existing higher permanent speed on a section of track for a period of time due to infrastructure conditions, or risks to track workers or weather conditions.
Train Alteration Advice (TAA) A TAA is a customer information sheet outlining forecasted potential impacts to train running and some types of ad hoc services. Track work plans, heritage and work trains, and alternations to the Master Train Plan (MTP) are examples of what would be included on a TAA).
Network Information Books (NIB) NIBs contain information relating to location-specific crossing facilities and sidings, safeworking methods in use, network control contact details, level crossing and tunnel details, diagrams and any specific requirements pertaining to that section of the ARTC network.
Network Rules and Procedures (NSW & QLD) Rulebooks that apply to our rail network, which must be followed by our employees, contractors and customers.
Safety & Environment Communications Formal communication of safety incidents and near misses (Flash Alert), lessons learned, and changes to safe working rules and procedures (Bulletins).
ARTC Safety Management System (SMS) The Safety Management System provides information on policies, procedures, standards, work instructions, guidelines etc. for all entities to do work for ARTC.
