Statement on flooding in NSW impacting the ARTC network
Statement attributable to an ARTC spokesperson:
Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) remains on course to restore full operations to the North Coast today after major flooding.
Freight trains resumed along the corridor last night, and XPT passenger services will begin running this afternoon.
ARTC will be actively monitoring track condition between trains, temporary speed restrictions are in place along the alignment and will remain until track health stabilises.
Operations on the Hunter Valley Network remain open for all services. Buses continue to replace passenger trains between Maitland, Telarah and Dungog.
ARTC would like to extend its thanks and appreciation to the travelling public and our customers for their continued patience and understanding throughout the flooding event.

The NSW Government / NSW Reconstruction Authority has partnered with GIVIT to also help ensure that all donations are useful, as sending or dropping unrequested items into impacted areas can inadvertently hinder recovery efforts.
