PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
The principal activities of the Group
during the year were the provision of rail
access and infrastructure management
of rail networks, either owned or leased
by ARTC.
SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN
THE STATE OF AFFAIRS
Significant changes in the state of affairs
of the Group during the financial year
were as follows:
Continuing implementation of
ARTC’s Transformation Program
has seen the further embedding of
company structures, following the
creation of two autonomous business
units and restructuring of various
support and corporate functions. The
Transformation Program is continuing
across a range of streams that
align with Company Corporate Plan
objectives and KPIs.
During April 2015, significant
infrastructure damage and
operational disruption was caused
by severe weather events impacting
the Hunter Valley, northern coast
and other parts of the ARTC
network. The impact of these
incidents was promptly addressed
by the Group and other stakeholders
to minimise disruption and restore
services in a timely manner. ARTC
has worked cooperatively with its
insurers to mitigate the financial
impact of the damage and service
