An historic piece of Maitland’s
railway history was the recipient of
a $170,000 facelift completed in
June 2013. The NSW State Heritage
register listed Maitland signal box
is currently being leased by the
Coalfield model railway club which
has occupied the site since 1995.
Repairs to windows and window
frames, replacement of stormwater
gutters, and full external painting
of the building in line with other
heritage buildings in the Maitland
railway precinct were undertaken to
restore and protect this important
local railway feature.
ARTC is the major sponsor of the newly
formed Coonamble All Blacks, a rugby
league team consisting of local and
ex‑local indigenous players. The team first
played in the Dubbo Aboriginal Knockout
in September 2012, where they tasted
instant success, winning the tournament.
