INTERSTATE
2011-12 has seen the completion of substantial
investment in Interstate network infrastructure. This
will provide the platform of capacity and reliability to
allow growth targets to be met. A prime focus has been
to complete these projects effectively and efficiently.
Planning on how to deliver the reliability our customers
require and to exploit the opportunities afforded by
the upgraded infrastructure has required a change
in thinking, from building to operating, with a more
dedicated focus on customer needs.
The Interstate network division has also reviewed
its maintenance arrangements in the light of
significantly changed infrastructure which will
change the focus of maintenance delivery to that of
maintaining reliability.
In the meantime, ARTC is working closely with
supply chain participants to achieve key objectives of
reliability, transit time and capacity to meet continuing
interest in a shift to increased rail.
