Our people are the key to our Company’s
success and in welcoming more than 200 new
members to our team, we made our culture and
values a strong focus for the year.
One of our key objectives was to ensure our
new workforce was aligned with ARTC’s
business direction, vision, objectives and
challenges. Accordingly, a detailed induction
program was rolled out nationwide in
November and December 2012.
OUR
PEOPLE
A buddy system, matching new employees with
relevant, experienced staff within the business,
was widely adopted and well received. The
buddies acted as sounding boards and guides
for new employees as they found their feet
within ARTC.
As part of the transition process, ARTC
successfully renegotiated an enterprise
agreement covering infrastructure maintenance
staff in Victoria. The agreement was approved
by the Fair Work Commission in March 2013.
OUR CULTURE
The results of an employee engagement
survey conducted in late 2012 have
helped shape corporate and divisional key
performance indicators for the coming
financial year. Each business unit discussed
the results of the survey with their staff,
