Severe flooding on the Mid-North Coast of NSW has resulted in washaways of railballast and the forced closure of the rail line between Kempsey and Casino.
An inspection of the rail corridor this morning has established that due to continualrain, along with already identified wash-a-ways and land slides it is forecast that trainmovements will not recommence until approximately 1800 hours tomorrow.
Track restorations and repairs in the affected areas between Casino and Kempseyare currently underway.
