- The ARTC Botany Rail Duplication project has provided a new air conditioning unit to the Botany Family and Children’s Centre
- The centre has been supporting the local south Sydney community for over 40 years
- The BRD project will improve freight supply chains across New South Wales
The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) Botany Rail Duplication project has sponsored the Botany Family and Children’s Centre for a new air conditioning unit to be installed in the centre’s waiting area.
The sponsorship will assist parents, children and volunteers at the centre which has been supporting the local community for over 40 years. The centre’s previous air conditioning unit was over 12 years old and no longer worked.
ARTC Group Executive Major Construction Projects Mike Zambelli said:
“ARTC has a strong focus on empowering our people to connect with the local communities in which they live, work and visit.
“The Botany Rail Duplication project team wanted to give back to the local community, as a way of saying thank you while construction takes place in the area.
“The project team chose the Botany Family & Children’s Centre because of the unique service it provides to help local families, and the difference it makes in the lives of the people who attend.”
Botany Family & Children’s Centre Manager, Rachael Atkins said:
“We have a number of clients using this space, not only when waiting for appointments, but also as a breakout room for groups, mums, and babies.
“Thanks to the ARTC Botany Rail Duplication project, the new air conditioning unit will now provide them with a much more comfortable space, with heating and cooling as needed.”
The Australian Government is fully funding ARTC to deliver the $400 million project, which will deliver better access to global export markets via Port Botany, improve freight supply chains across New South Wales and help reduce the number of trucks on local roads.
