We’re thrilled that the Pimba Intermodal Hub project near Olympic Dam in South Australia has won a major Australian Logistics Council Supply Chain & Logistics Business Award.
Announced last night in Melbourne (28 May), ARTC took out the “Supply Chain Industry & Government Partnership Award” for outstanding industry/government collaboration delivering infrastructure, productivity and regional connectivity outcomes.
Organised by the Australian Logistics Council, the annual awards recognise companies and individuals who are strengthening Australia’s supply chains through innovation, resilience, sustainability and collaboration.
The Pimba Intermodal Hub represents one of Australia’s largest road-to-rail freight conversions, delivered in partnership between ARTC, BHP’s Copper SA operations, Aurizon and Symons Clark Logistics.
By shifting Copper SA’s freight from road to rail, more than 11,000 truck movements will be removed from South Australian roads each year, cutting 13 million heavy vehicle kilometres annually, and reducing carbon emissions by around 20,000 tonnes per year.
