Our latest major shutdown in the Hunter Valley has delivered another boost to network performance, with teams removing 10 temporary speed restrictions (TSRs) to support faster, more reliable services on our NSW Heavy Haul Network.
Hundreds of ARTC team members and contractors worked across 125 sites during the three-day possession from 21-24 July, completing essential maintenance between Warabrook/Kooragang and Muswellbrook, Muswellbrook and Ulan, and Muswellbrook and Turrawan.
The works included signal upgrades, track reconditioning, re-railing, rail grinding, level crossing civil works, bridge and culvert maintenance.
“The scheduled shutdown followed more than 12 months of planning to safely coordinate work across 125 sites and minimise disruption to our customers and local communities,” said Mitchell Purvis, ARTC Manager Corridor Works.
