Congratulations to Charli House, our first ever school-based apprentice to complete all training and become a qualified signal electrician!
After deciding early on that a traditional university career wasn’t for her, Charli started with us at just 16. With a mother working in Network Control and a father working for Pacific National, you could say rail is in the blood.
While pursuing two separate trade qualifications – Electrotechnology and Signalling – Charli has shown dedication and skill throughout her apprenticeship, balancing time at TAFE with hands-on work at Maitland PC.
“It was daunting at first, but I’m grateful for all the help and support I’ve been given. I am looking forward to getting more experience and gaining a deeper understanding of the railway systems. I am excited for what the future holds,” she said.
Charli successfully completed her Certificate IV in Rail Signalling late last year, having already completed a Certificate III in Electrotechnology.
Her team leader Luke Hayes, Work Group Leader Signals, said “Charli is an outstanding example of how passion, dedication and the right support can lead to incredible achievements”.
“We’re proud to support her journey and other apprentices and trainees on the journey and look forward to her continued contributions to our team and the rail industry,” said Luke.
Congratulations Charli!
