Track works were completed on ARTC’s network in the Hunter Valley and North Coast of NSW over the weekend as part of our ongoing efforts to provide a safe, resilient and reliable network to help grow freight on rail.
Essential maintenance and improvement works were carried out from 31 January to 2 February across more than 40 work sites from Newcastle in NSW to Acacia Ridge in Queensland.
Activities included track machine work, upgrading signal cable routes from Maitland to Telarah, re-railing, re-sleepering, defect removal, maintenance and upgrading of structures, and level crossing track works.
“With high temperatures throughout, everyone did a great job to complete the works safely and efficiently,” said Darren Warner, ARTC Area Manager – Kundabung to Acacia Ridge.
