Bridge and track maintenance works – Epsom Road bridge, Chiltern

We will be carrying out essential bridge and track works on the Epsom Road rail bridge at Chiltern, Victoria, as part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and reliable freight rail network.

This work is scheduled from 6:00am Monday 28 July 2025 to 6:00pm Wednesday 30 July 2025, weather permitting. Work will occur continuously during this period, including night shifts on Monday and Tuesday.

Our contractor will be on site during standard working hours before and after these dates to complete site preparation and clean-up activities.

We understand that works can be disruptive and are working to minimise impacts of noise, dust and light wherever possible. Measures include:

• Watering down work areas to reduce dust.
• Positioning light towers to shine away from residential properties.
• Limiting the number of machines operating at any one time.

Between 23 July 2025 and 1 August 2025, Epsom Road will be closed under the rail bridge. Traffic management and clearly marked detours will be in place for the duration of the closure.
