Essential Track Maintenance, Baddaginnie to Benalla, Victoria, March 2025

We will be carrying out essential track maintenance between Baddaginnie and Benalla, Victoria, to maintain a safe and reliable rail network.
This work is scheduled to occur from 6:00am Monday 3 March 2025 to 6:00pm Saturday 8 March 2025, weather permitting. We will be working continuously between these times, including nights.
Our contractor will also be in the area during standard working hours prior to this period to undertake preliminary civil work.
As we are upgrading the track infrastructure during day and night works, there will be increased traffic and heavy plant movements on Palmerston Street level crossing, Baddaginnie-Benalla Rd, Carroll Rd level crossing and Cemetery Rd level crossing, during this time.
How this could affect you?
We are committed to reducing the impacts of noise, dust and light from our works wherever possible, including:
- Watering down work areas
- Positioning light towers to shine away from residences
- Limiting the number of machines operating at any one time.
There will be industrial vehicles in the area, on sections of the Baddaginnie-Benalla Rd with slow traffic and increased vehicular traffic at the level crossings. Please drive with caution and for pedestrians, cross level crossings under the instruction of traffic controllers.
