Level crossing closure, Lara, VIC – 18 to 20 April 2026

Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) will be carrying out track maintenance at McClelland Avenue and McIntyre Road Level Crossings, Lara, to maintain a safe and reliable rail network.

This work is scheduled from 6:00am Saturday 18 April to 6:00am Monday 20 April, weather permitting.

For safety reasons, the crossings will be closed to all traffic and pedestrians, including nights.

Detours will be in place via Forest Road South and Princes Highway, with traffic controllers and signage onsite to safety guide road users around the worksite.

Please take these delays into consideration when planning trips.

For pedestrians at McClelland Avenue, a shuttle bus will be in operation, however, lengthy delays are to be expected to reach Lara station. Traffic controllers and signage will safely guide road users and pedestrians.
