Level crossing upgrade: Robertson, NSW – 25 to 15 June 2026

Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) will be upgrading the level crossing at Robertson, NSW to maintain a safe and reliable rail network.

This work is scheduled from 11:00pm, Friday 12 June to 5:00am, Monday 15 June, weather permitting. We will be working continuously during this time.

This is a significant project which will include rail cutting, excavating and installing a new road surface for the level crossing.

While we’re committed to reducing the impacts of noise, dust and light from our works wherever possible, these works will be noisy at times. Some ways we work to minimise disruption include:

• Watering down work areas
• Positioning light towers to shine away from residences
• Limiting the number of machines operating at any one time.

Detour via Sassafras Way, South St and Meryla St

Light vehicles and emergency vehicles will detour via Sassafras Way, South St and Meryla St. Hoddle St between Meryla St and the level crossing will be accessible for local traffic only.

A reduced speed limit will be in place along the detour route, as well as additional lighting towers to improve safety. Traffic controllers and signage will safely guide road users.

Temporary footpath closure

We will be resurfacing the footpath alongside the level crossing as part of this work. The concrete will need additional time to cure, so the footpath will be closed until 6:00pm, Wednesday 17 June.

Traffic controllers will stop vehicle traffic and escort pedestrians during this time.
