Level crossing upgrade: Wongajong Road, Red Bend, NSW – 28 April to 28 September 2026
Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) is upgrading the level crossing at Wongajong Road, Red Bend, to improve safety for road and rail users.
The upgrade includes:
- Installation of flashing lights and warning bells
- Installation of boom gates
- New line marking.
Regular work is scheduled from Tuesday 28 April to 28 September 2026. Our work pattern will be ten days on, four days off from 7:00am to 6:00pm. There will be times where this work will fall over a full weekend.
The level crossing will remain open to all road users throughout the upgrade. At times traffic control may be in place to safely guide road users over the crossing when crews are working nearby.
This upgrade is jointly funded by the Australian Government’s Regional Level Crossing Upgrade Fund (RLCUF), the NSW Government’s Level Crossing Improvement Program (LCIP) and ARTC. View the full program of NSW upgrades here.
