Viaduct Rail Bridge Maintenance – Moonee Ponds Creek , VIC – 5 to 24 November, 2025

Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) will recommence the final phase of works to the Moonee Ponds Creek Viaduct Rail Bridge, to enhance the safety and reliability of this essential piece of infrastructure. The project involves bridge deck removal and replacement activities.

Work will take place in three stages.

Pre-works

• Continuously from 6:00am Wednesday 5 November to 6:00pm Thursday 6 November (overnight)

Construction

• 24/7 from 6:00am Friday 7 November to 6:00pm Friday 14 November (nights and weekends)
• 7:30am to 5:00pm Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 November (day shifts only)
• 24/7 6:00am Monday 17 November to 6:00pm Monday 24 November (nights and weekends)

Site clean up

• 7:30am to 6:00pm starting Tuesday 25 November to late January (Day shifts and Monday to Friday only)

How this affects you?

You may notice increased vehicle activity in the surrounding streets and areas. Work areas will be identified with safety signage and fencing. Please observe all signs and instructions and proceed through the area with caution.

During construction, there may be some additional noise near construction area and temporary use of parts of the parkland.

We’re committed to reducing the impacts of noise, dust and light from our works wherever possible, including:

• Watering down work areas
• Positioning light towers to shine away from residences
• Limiting the number of machines operating at any one time.
