Level Crossing Closure, Hamilton Highway, Derrinallum, VIC – 24 August to 4 September 2026

We are upgrading the Hamilton Highway Level Crossing in Derrinallum to maintain a safe and reliable rail network.

This work is scheduled from 7:00am Monday 24 August to 6:00pm Friday 4 September, weather permitting.

For safety reasons, this crossing will be closed to all road users:

8:00pm Friday 28 August to 6:00pm Monday 31 August.

Detours will be in place via Camperdown-Derrinallum Road, with traffic controllers and signage onsite to safely guide road users around the worksite.

Please take these delays into consideration when planning trips.

You may have noticed we have already begun minor preparation works and material deliveries. Site clean-up will continue during standard construction hours after the work is complete, and some temporary speed restrictions may remain in place while we do this.
