Level crossing maintenance: Shanley St, Wangaratta, VIC – 11 to 14 September 2026

Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) is upgrading the level crossing at Shanley St, Wangaratta to maintain a safe and reliable rail network.

This work is scheduled from 11:00am, Friday 11 September to 9:00pm, Monday 14 September 2026, weather permitting. We will be working continuously during this time.

This is a significant project which will include rail cutting, excavating and installing a new road surface for the level crossing.

While we’re committed to reducing the impacts of our work wherever possible, these works will be noisy at times. Some ways we try to minimise disruption include:

• Watering down work areas
• Positioning light towers to shine away from residences
• Limiting the number of machines operating at any one time.

Shanley St detour

From 11:00am, Friday 11 September to 9:00pm, Monday 14 September 2026, all vehicles will be required to detour via Gravel Pit Rd and Warby Range Rd.

Traffic controllers and signage will safely guide road users.
