Weather impact on ARTC network – update 9

Hunter Valley

ARTC’s network has now re-opened following the completion of repairs between Maitland and Telarah this evening. We want to thank the SES for their hard work and expertise as we worked closely to understand the movements of the flood waters on a daily and at times hourly basis.

ARTC continues to work closely with our customers to restore normal passenger, coal and freight operations across the network and we thank them for their patience.

Passengers should refer to visit www.sydneytrains.info and www.nswtrainlink.info for up to date passenger service information.

ARTC maintenance crews will continue to work over the next couple of weeks to return the track to normal operating conditions. This will involve heavy track repair machines working around-the-clock conducting track resurfacing and rail grinding. This is essential to get the network back up and running and we apologise to residents for any inconvenience.

Interstate network

The mid North Coast track between Telarah and Dungog remains closed, however works have been progressing well. We thank the community for their patience and understanding while works and associated truck movements are underway.
