As part of the Access Undertaking, ARTC offers Indicative Access Charges for those parties seeking access for services with the following characteristics (Indicative Services):
- maximum axle loads of 21 tonnes;
- maximum speed of 110km/h; and
- length not exceeding
- 1800 metres west of Adelaide and Parkes;
- 1500 metres east of Adelaide and Parkes (until capital expenditure is commissioned Melbourne – Macarthur and Parkes – Cootamundra);
- 1800 metres on the segments Melbourne – Macarthur and Parkes – Cootamundra (following commissioning of capital expenditure Melbourne – Macarthur and Parkes – Cootamundra) and Southern Sydney Freight Line
Indicative Access Charges correspond to the Super Freight service category.
ARTC also provides other reference charges (for Non-Indicative Services) and a general description of the services to which these charges relate.

Southern Sydney Freight Line Indicative Access Charge
The Indicative Access Charge applicable to Indicative Services on the Southern Sydney Freight Line, in accordance with the 2013 Interstate Access Undertaking, effective as at 1 July 2014 are:

Access Charges Variation
In accordance with the Clause 4.6(d) of the Access Undertaking, ARTC commits to publishing each year a comparison of cumulative variations to the Indicative Access Charges approved as part of the Access Undertaking and cumulative movements in the relevant CPI Index from the CPI Index relevant to the approved Indicative Access Charges over the Term of the Access Undertaking.
In accordance with Clause 4.6(d) of the Access Undertaking, and as the Determination Date with respect to the 1 July 2013 Indicative Access Charges was the sixth Determination Date, ARTC has reset CPI Index0 to CPI Index5, and CV5 to 1.
With respect to the 1 July 2014 Indicative Access Charges as published, the following comparisons are provided:
- Accumulated variation to the approved Indicative Access Charges since the Commencement Date (following the above reset)(CVi-1)*100as contemplated at Clause 4.6(d) of the Access Undertaking where i = 7 is 5.5%*.
- Accumulated CPI Index to CPI0 as at the Commencement Date (following the above reset)(CPI Indexi / CPI Index0-1)*100as contemplated at Clause 4.6(d) of the Access Undertaking where i = 7 is 5.5%*.
