Track machine work – Telarah to Muswellbrook NSW

ARTC continually operates track machines across the network to improve track conditions and allow safer, more reliable, and quieter rail operations.
A rail grinding machine will be operating between Telarah and Muswellbrook NSW from 6:00am Thursday 04 August through until 6:00pm Friday 12 August 2022.
This work will be completed in periods when fewer trains operate allowing the work to be undertaken safely and efficiently, meaning that there will be some late-night and overnight work.
The rail grinding machine may be stabled at Telarah, Branxton, Singleton and Muswellbrook at various time throughout the works.
Stabling will include machine maintenance at Branxton, Singleton or Muswellbrook between 6:00am Saturday 06 August and 6:00pm Sunday 07 August 2022. While this maintenance is being completed the engine will continue running to power the required equipment. This allows us to check that all the components of the machine are operating correctly. To mitigate noise, we will stable away from homes and buildings where possible.
